Death makes some people happy!
Fried chicken is made possible because of dead chicken. Curry goat is because of dead goat and beef soup is because of dead cows, bacon is because of dead pigs.
DEATH MAKES SOME PEOPLE HAPPY.
Even in some parts of Papua they said the best meat is the white man’s meat.
But what about when a human being dies?
A husband, a brother, a wife, a sister, a son or daughter, any loved one for that matter. Death at that point is not a happy meal but of sorrow and sadness.
One of the elders died and so church was at his house, with the casket inside. Looking at him made me remember the day when we buried my beloved grandfather. I was asked to be the preacher for Divine service. After much prayer the Lord led me to 1 Thes 4:13.
My topic was “sorrow not like others” where the focus was on the resurrection of the dead in Christ and the Second Coming.
“A good Christian will cry because we are human, but that same good Christian will use the handkerchief of hope to dry his tears.”
It’s nice to have beloved friends and relatives to pray for us and encourage us in hard times but what if no one cares enough to be there for us when we need them? That’s where I went to the cross and focused on the abandoned Jesus, who like David encouraged themselves in the Lord when forsaken by all their earthly friends.
Here are some pics of that Sabbath service we had at Banuar.
